How We Started? With a few button badges, some tealights, and a kitchen table full of ideas.

Well let me tell you what happened.....just a minute...I need a coffee to tell you the complete story...

We didn't start off with candles.

We actually started with button badges. I know, we have come along way since then.

The very first time I took them out to sell was at our local market.
I had a card table, a table cloth and around 100 badges to sell.
 My badges $4.00
The stall fee was $10.

I was put under a tree and no one came to collect my stall fee.

When I grabbed the organiser with my $10 in my hand  she said " don't worry about it Erin. You really didn't take up any space"

I made $48.00 that day.  It was a success.

Our first tealight candles were a caramel vanilla scent.

Still one of my favourite scents to this day and still one of our more popular items only as time has gone on we have much better raw ingredients and a much better display - see future blog posts for how we have grown over the years.

One of my original display ideas....I would have used all these images on instagram in the early days...lol

So that" how it all began—just two makers, a handful of tealights, and a table full of dreams.

Thanks for being here. We’re so glad to share this creative little corner of our world with you.

The Candle’s Out, But the Magic Continues

Here at Soaps Candles and Home, we hate the idea of anything ending up in landfill. That’s why, right from the beginning of our candle-making journey, we carefully considered how our vessels could be reused — even after the final flicker of the flame. Every jar, pot, and holder we create has been tested with reuse in mind, so once your candle has burned through, it’s just the start of a new story. Here are our top 5 reuses This dolphin pot was the perfect size for my claw clips - keeps them together and tidy I found the wild horses pot perfect for my hair ties. It stopped them getting caught in my claw clips and was the perfect size. And the cotton buds? They’ve found a new home in our little sailboat pot. It's such a joy seeing these vessels continue to be part of everyday life, long after the candle has burned down. Instead of having an untidy bathroom, everything now has its place — and it all looks so pretty! Our reused candle pots have helped create a space that’s not only mo...

Behind the Scenes: A Creative Collaboration with Matt Cornell & Amelia Kellerman 📸✨

There’s nothing more magical than seeing our products come to life in the hands of other creatives. Each piece begins its journey in our studio, crafted with care and attention to detail — but it’s when they find their way into the hands of photographers, stylists, makers, and dreamers that they truly shine. We love watching how each person’s unique vision transforms our soaps, candles, and homewares into something new, telling a story we could never have imagined on our own. It’s a reminder that creativity is a beautiful collaboration, and the magic is always multiplied when shared. We adore seeing our products come to life beyond the shelf—and this recent shoot with talented photographer Matt Cornell  and stunning model Amelia Kellerman was pure magic. We had never collaborated on something like this before but we were excited to go for it. Photographer Matt instantly put us at ease. Before the shoot began, he talked us through everything he intended to do, the mood he wanted t...
